Coby Edgar is a Larrakia, Jingili, Filipino and Anglo woman from Darwin and the curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art at the Art Gallery of NSW on Gadigal land. Her project highlights over the last two years include The Purple House, a celebration of 21 years of the Purple House fight for dialysis in Aboriginal communities to keep people and culture strong during end of stage renal failure, Joy, a collection of objects and short films from across the Central Desert celebrating the joy of making and sharing culture and life together, and Badu Gili: Wonder Women, an animation project in partnership with the Sydney Opera House highlighting the stories of 6 incredible women. Coby has also contributed to Together In Art, the AGNSW’s online Covid-19 response, and as an actor and writer for the TV series Faboriginal.
