Claire Sourgnes is a curator and arts manager with over twenty years’ experience working in galleries in Australia and overseas. Claire has been CEO of artisan since November 2016. During this time, she has undertaken a revitalisation of the organisation, relocating the gallery and store, invigorating its curatorial program and increasing and diversifying its audience engagement activities.
Prior to this, she was the inaugural Network Coordinator of Moreton Bay Regional Council’s three art galleries for seven years where she was responsible for the creative and strategic visioning of the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery, Redcliffe Art Gallery and Pine Rivers Art Gallery.
Claire is passionate about advocacy for the Arts and is currently President of Public Galleries Queensland, CO-Chair of the ACDC (Australian Craft and Design Centre) network and recently elected to the AMaGA Art, Craft and Design National Network Committee. She regularly contributes to advocacy work with NAVA and the NPGA (National Public Galleries Alliance).
